Milwaukee Police Officer Injured As Multiple Brawls Break Out at Riverside High School [VIDEO]

Milwaukee police responded to multiple brawls at Riverside University High School on May 23, 2023, and a student struck an officer, according to the Milwaukee police spokesman.

“Milwaukee Police responded to several fights that occurred on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., on the 1600 block of E. Locust Street,” the police spokesman said in a statement to WRN.

It was the last day of classes.

“Several students from the school were fighting which warranted a large police response. One of the students struck a police officer. The officer sustained non-fatal injuries. A 15-year-old male was arrested for battery to an officer. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, were also arrested and cited.”

Video emerged from the scene showing the police mounted patrol outside the school. The woman in the video says there were “seven fights. Everyone was jumping.” At another point, she said there 10 fights with 60 kids involved, although police only said there were “several fights” and three arrests.
